3-Ingredient Protein Bagel

I've seen a pretty amazing recipe circulating through social media in recent weeks. It's a 2-ingredient bagel, made from Greek yogurt and self rising flour.  Yum, right? While I have yet to try it, I experimented with my own version, using a plant-based protein powder. I call it my 3-ingredient protein bagel.

You see, I recently discovered Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard Plant Protein. Who doesn't love 24g of plant-based protein? It's made primarily of organic pea protein and organic brown rice protein and tastes amazing mixed with water, as a shake. Plus, it's gluten free and non-GMO. The thought of a protein bagel was irresistible.  Here are the results of my experiment.


3 scoops Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Vanilla Plant Protein
3/4 cup Greek yogurt, unflavored
1 t. baking soda


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix equal parts Greek yogurt and vanilla protein in a bowl. (I used about 3/4 c. of each)
Add a teaspoon of baking soda.
The consistency becomes rather "sticky," but grab a small handful and roll into balls. (Makes 2-3 balls)
Spray a baking sheet with olive oil spray.
Roll each ball into a "snake-like shape." (You know what I mean)
Connect the ends of the "snake-like shape" to form the shape of a bagel.
Bake for approximately 25 minutes.
